Martin, before joining Sheffield City Council as an education officer, was a successful Head of Department and Staff Tutor in a large Leeds comprehensive school. In his time with Sheffield City Council in education management and administration he contributed to two major DfE projects on School Development Planning (based at Cambridge University) and the anti bullying project "Don't suffer in silence" based at Sheffield University. In the last 20 years Martin has taken responsibility for leading work on a broad canvas from Governor training through to the interface of schools with the media.In addition he lead two of the largest consultation exercises ever undertaken by Sheffield Local Authority on the structure of the school year and the provision of post 16 education in the north of the City.
He is currently working with 3 Academies in South Yorkshire.
