Mariam worked in corporate banking before moving into the education sector where her particular focus was on children with Special Educational Needs. She also worked extensively with the local BME women as a community health advisor and fitness worker before joining QCA to work in the management of Key Stage 3 test development.

Mariam has a particular contribution to make in engaging with local communities in an innovative way based on her work in managing the virtual activity debates and securing key public figures as speakers for Equal-Works – part of an ESF funded Equal Programme, testing and promoting new means of combating all forms of discrimination and inequalities in the labour market. She has also managed Equal-Invest, a social enterprise development programme geared towards preparing social enterprises to become self-sustainable and investment ready.
Mariam serves as a LEA School Governor and has experience as a Deputy Project Manager to the Westminster Academy.
