Libya

Alligan has established an office in Tripoli through which to manage its education contracts in Libya. Alligan has successfully completed the first of a series of contracts to supply furniture and equipment to the following schools in Libya which are being improved by the Gaddafi Development Foundation.
  • Uqba ben Nafa School, Sirt

  • Abdullah Ben Massaoud School, Zliten

  • Central School, Zliten

  • 7th October School, Zuwara

Alligan is also in discussions with the Libyan Ministry of Education on providing consultancy to support the reforms currently taking place within the education sector.


Morocco

Alligan is managing a project in Casablanca to showcase UK educational software and equipment, including electronic whiteboards and data logging equipment for science classes. The project is sponsored by UK Trade & Investment. Initially, one school, a lycee′, is being supplied with a range of UK educational resources. The school’s use of this leading edge software and equipment is currently being evaluated. The outcome is expected to have a major impact on how ICT is used in schools in Morocco.


Algeria

Alligan has established an office in Algiers through which to manage its education contracts in Algeria. Alligan's first contract in Algeria was to provide education consultancy to an international primary and secondary school which was failing. We conducted a full inspection of the teaching of all ages in all subjects. As a result, we were able to provide the owner of the school with a detailed improvement plan which he then implemented. Alligan is now in discussions with the Algerian Ministry of Education on providing support to the introduction of ICT in schools.


Ethiopia

In 2005, Alligan established an office in Addis Ababa through which to manage the operation of Alligan Travel PLC, a locally based, joint venture tour company. It provides tours throughout Ethiopia.

Alligan is now developing mainstream education activities in Ethiopia so that it can provide services to improve the quality and resourcing of schools and colleges.
